Performative Route

2024

On Saturday, November 16, 2024, artist Julia Gorostidi, togeth-
er with storyteller Le Morenita, invited us to a performative

route of tales and legends to explore and imagine Barcelona
from different perspectives and timeframes.
During the journey, legends from Barcelona’s oral tradition
intertwined with fantastic stories created in an intercultural and
feminist oral laboratory led by the artist at La Bonne.
We also discovered distant stories gathered during collective
work sessions, in which eight women from Barcelona—born
and raised outside Spain—participated. Throughout the route,
we engaged in small actions and rituals that invited us to (re)
think and/or re-signify various elements of the city to (re-)
discover it through the experiences, needs, and desires of the
workshop participants.
The route began at the iconic Canaletas fountain and, after
traversing several corners of the city, culminated at La Bonne
with a light snack, a discussion, and an exhibition of pieces and
objects inspired by the Leyendas Bastardas.
